Mercedes Benz launches collection of 1000 NFT's

The Mercedes Benz automobile brand will debut its Web3 area with the launch of a collection of 1,000 NFTs of generative art on June 7.

Multi-talented artist Harm van den Dorpel has been a pioneer in blockchain-based art since 2015. For the "Maschine" collection, Harm selected movement, speed and perception as the main themes to explore. As explained by Mercedes-Benz NXT, each of the 1,000 unique pieces of art in the collection depicts a captivating radial pattern made up of complex and ever-changing illusions. These illusions are generated when certain objects rotate and accelerate, providing a fascinating visual experience.

The project also has the collaboration of Fingerprints DAO, a decentralized organization specialized in art. The NFts have been developed by 0xNXT, the new area for Mercedes-Benz NXT blockchain-based collectibles, which is staffed by a team of “veterans of the Web3 and collector communities.” The car house defines NXT as the home of its digital objects.

Like other big brands, such as Adidas or Starbucks, Mercedes believes that NFT collectibles will play an increasingly important role in people's online experience. Therefore, it underlines its commitment to build a presence within the Web3 community. The company recalls that collectors have enjoyed all kinds of physical objects from the brand throughout its 130 years of existence.
